Caduceus Nagual de la Naga 2014
70% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon from Cochise County, Arizona. Aged in New and Neutral French oak for 18 months this is Arizona’s expression of a Super Tuscan. With scents of cherries & roasted tomatoes, this wine has silky tannins and a vigorous finish.

Wow, this wine is fantastic. So complex and deep without being a big, ball-buster, juicy fruit bomb. Cabernet Sauvignon is known for its ripe red berry characteristics and lingering tannins, and the Naga is definitely showing these when the bottle is first opened. But as the wine has time to breathe (hopefully in a decanter), the Sangiovese sings loud and proud throughout the wine. The Sangiovese smells of bright cherry and that smell you get when you first open a pack of cigarettes (Sweet Tobacco). These and other aromas keep coming to the forefront of the wine as time passes. You know a great wine when it changes and takes you on a complex journey of different smells, tastes and textures the longer it has been open during the evening. Highly recommended to take this Naga journey with those foods you associate with Tuscany, like Ripe Tomatoes, Pancetta, Wood Fired Pizza or Bistecca Fiorentina (Big T-Bone served with Sea Salt, Olive Oil, Rocket & Shaved Parmesan)
